Apple has just released iOS 15 to all users. After three months of testing and some features delayed, the company is also revealing what security issues it’s fixing with the latest version of its iPhone operating system.
Apple’s iOS 15 is rolling out to users in waves. In other words, have a little patience if you haven’t received a notification about the new iOS update because it will be there soon enough.
To speed up the process a little, one thing you can do is navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Your iPhone or iPod will then automatically search for the update and let you know if it’s available.
How to install iOS 15 on iPhone
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
Swipe down and tap General
Choose Software Update
Tap Download and Install under iOS 15
If iOS 14.8 appears at the top, look at the bottom and choose Upgrade to iOS 15
Then tap Download and Install
Follow the prompts to finish the installation
iOS 15 brings several new features that aren’t ready for prime time yet. SharePlay enhances FaceTime calls by allowing you to share music, video and more with your friends, complete with Spatial Audio support. SharePlay is coming later this year. iOS 15 will also allow Android and Windows users to join FaceTime calls with up to 6 people participating.
iOS 15 also redesigns notifications to be easier to read. Less important ones will be grouped together and can be delivered at a later time when convenient.
